Fortune favors the bold who get shit done.
– Sophia Amoruso, 2014
Yep, #girlboss inspired me so much, I quoted author Sophia Amoruso in my own blog’s tagline. My New Year’s resolution for 2018 was to put myself into a better position within my career. My ultimate goal is to be a store manager within a year from now. I originally went to Barnes & Noble to purchase Radical Candor by Kim Scott, but #girlboss caught my eye. The (cheaper) paperback option had me sold this time. I had seen the book before and even watched the Netflix show. It only made sense to see what inspiration was lying within those pages. And, boy, was there inspiration.
It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, a seasoned professional, or just entering the workforce, this book is a gold mine of inspiration and information. Sophia details the rise of her company and her journey to finding herself as a CEO while providing tips based on lessons she had to learn the hard way. I kept a pink pen tucked away in my bun for moments of insight, highlighting my way through the pages. My favorite part of the book is outlined below, as I felt it was important to all business professionals. . .
